It’s hard to get a screen capture of this one, but it is the inaugural torture scene that will become the norm for LOST inhabitants. Here Sayid is getting electric shocks from the French woman who we haven’t met yet but have heard her voice on the repeating transmition.
Sayid goes off on his own after torturing Sawyer. In doing so, he finds a cable running from the sea to the jungle and follows it. The wise Iraqi spots a thin cable but thinks it’s just a trip wire, but after stepping over gets scooped up and hung from a tree.

Sayid was knocked out while trying to triangulate signals. He sorta suspects Locke and confronts him. Locke’s has an alabi, skinning a boar, but gives Sayid a little protection.
Kate’s flashback: She wakes up in a barn to a shotgun barrell. She’s on the lam and lying about her identity.
The first weapon in Lost. Sawyer kills the polar bear.
